Blogger, How I've Missed You So!

I used to have a blog. It was a lovely blog. Then I dumped it. Before hitting that delete blog button, I told my blog, "It's not you, it's me." That's always a lie, isn't it? The truth is, my old blog and I just weren't compatible anymore.

Like most blogs, it all started out great. I posted about cosmo martinis and Malibu Ken's advantage over Tightie-Whitie Ken. Ah, such fun were those early days. But then I made a few mistakes along the way, and over the course of a few months, my blog turned into something I no longer wanted to be associated with. *sniffle*

All is not lost, though. I have a new blog now: The Sassy Pants Factor. Yippee! No, I do not wear sassy pants. Don't have the small hips or stuck-in-the-80's fashion sense for it...mostly I stick to jeans and black pants. Not so sassy, I know. I just like to say "sassy pants." Go ahead, say it out loud. Fun, isn't it? Anyhow, I did indeed learn a few key things about my blogging preferences from my first blog.

Here is what I have learned:
  • When blogging, take off my "serious writer" hat and just let it be a blog.
  • Do not edit my blog numerous times for typos and grammatical errors. That takes too long.
  • Be weary of fellow bloggers who stumble upon my blog and draw me into their blog so they can get more comments.
  • It sucks the joy right out of blogging when I stop writing about what I want to and start posting about what I think everyone else will want to read.
  • Make sure to have a work-type window minimized and ready for quick access while posting or reading blogs at work. (I had to minimize this window twice before I was able to fully type out that sentence - no joke)
  • Save all html coding passed along from bloggers who actually know html so I can have links and fun stuff in my blog. If anyone has that coding for me, let me know. I didn't save it from my last blog and I want links, dammit! :-(
  • Most importantly, have fun with it and don't take myself too seriously on here. Woo-hoo!
