Once Again
I wrote out a long post yesterday and when I hit the "publish post" button, it got wiped out. Not cool. I didn't have time to rewrite it then. *sniffle* Hopefully blogger won't do that to me again on this post. Not cool at all.Okay, so I'm here at UCLA and having lots of fun and meeting cool people from all over the place. Lots of people from the Northeast on the staff, a few southerners and midwesterners, a really fun group of guys from Oklahoma, and a couple of people from California. We're a diverse bunch. There are only a couple of semi-annoying people on the staff. Everyone else is cool and outgoing and lots of fun. We all went out dancing at Universal Studios the other night and had a great time. We're going out again tonight to get that out of our system before the kids arrive...the kids are coming in on Sunday and we have to go pick 'em up at the airport and get them settled in. That's going to be a crazy day!
The majority of the people I'll be working with this summer are still in college or just graduated, so 21-22 years old. There's one guy who is a week older than me, and he's the head RC (resident counselor - that's my job title), and one other person older than me, that I know of. She's 27. The three of us were joking at dinner last night about how we need to be sure to get our fiber and we should go out and play bingo or something, being the old geezers that we are. But, we're keeping up with the rest of the staff just fine. I really don't feel that much older than them, although I do have more of an idea what post-college life is like. I won't burst their bubbles and tell them about how their first full-time/permanent job out of college will be nothing like what they hoped it would be. That would just be mean.
Anywho, I'm having a great time and the people are so nice and fun. We're like a big family (there's 40-45 of us as RC's). Such fun. I'm off now to go help decorate our floor, then I desperately need to take a shower before dinner and going out. Have fun until next time! This thing better post this time...
