Back in the saddle

Oh yes, another year of grad school begins. I feel like an old pro now. The office hasn't changed at all since last May. I'm the only one here right now. It's pretty exciting. And it's cold up here, just like last year. I remembered to dress accordingly, which means I'm comfortable inside the building, but I just might melt walking to and from my car today.

It's almost time for my first class: First Amendment. Why do we need to study the first amendment? Is that, like, important to media professionals or something? It's not like anybody ever gets in trouble for anything they print or broadcast. And it's not like the government would ever try to infringe on our freedom of speech by telling a newspaper that they can't/shouldn't publish an article or something. That would *never* happen.

Later on today is the class I TA. We're talking about reality TV and The Dailly Show and Oprah, among other things. Sweet.
